Now let’s Begin!
First thing you want to do is make sure your silhouette is connected to your computer
and you have opened silhouette studio.
Now we are going to set up the page.
The moment you open silhouette studio you notice you have a blank page in the middle
and on the right side, there is a page setup window
In this window, you have the possibility to change the page size and the way it lays on the mat and beneath that, there is an option for the mat size.
In this case, I’m using a 12 x 12-inch mat.
The second step is to choose what you want to create.
Let’s start with something simple
When you look to the top right on silhouette studio you will find a button called the library. when you press it you will see the library with all you’re available designs. you can buy more online or just create you’re own.
for this tutorial, we will be using the butterfly.
Just double-tap it.
You should be able to see the butterfly appear on your design page.
you can scale it to the size you want you can measure the size and lay it over your page layout.
The butterfly will have a color filling.
This is so you can print it and see the color.
the color on the inside won’t matter when you want to cut.
So to make it easier you can make it transparent by clicking on the paint pallet on the right of your screen
you can also adjust the line color, this can be useful if you want to keep lines apart or want to cut them separately. you can do this by clicking on the line icons beneath the paint pallet.
We are done!
The Silhouette cameo will do the rest.
If the settings were right the butterfly should be cut out of de material.
I used cardboard, I had to tweak some settings because cardboard has so many different thicknesses.
